WHAT WILL IT COST?

For Edge-to-Edge (E2E) and Semi-Custom I charge by the square inch.  Custom quilting depends on many factors. Contact me and we will set up a time to collaborate and put together a plan.

I also sell batting and other services like binding attatchment, backing fabrics, etc. Please see pricing below.

QUILTING RATES

There is a minimum charge of $55 for small quilts.

We do not charge for needle and thread; that cost is built into our pricing.

EDGE-TO-EDGE

I charge 3 cents per square inch for all Edge-to-Edge designs.  My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Example: A quilt top measures 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .03 = $144

SEMI-CUSTOM

Semi-Custom pricing starts at 4¢ up to 7¢  per square inch. This covers quilting that accentuates the borders with different quilting designs on the piecing inside the boarders. Up to 16 blocks (no larger than 15 inches) and 3 borders and corners.

  • 4¢  = 1 border and E2E inside the border

  • 5¢  = 1-3 borders, E2E inside the borders

  • 6¢  = 1-3 borders, up to 4 blocks inside

  • 7¢  = 1-3 borders, up to 16 blocks inside

Example 1: At the lower end, a quilt top measures 60 inches x 80 inches, with a single border and corner layout and E2E inside the border. The quilt on the right is one border design and E2E on the blocks.  60 x 80 = 4800 x .04 = $192

Example 2: At the upper end, a quilt top measures 60 inches x 80 inches, with 3 borders and 12 blocks each with placed designs.

60 x 80 = 4800 x .07 = $336

CUSTOM QUILTING

Anything more complex than the borders and blocks listed above is considered custom quilting.

For Example: The quilt to the left had blocks that were 24 inches tall, which is just barely too big for my frame. I was able to modify the design choice to quilt the top half of the design in top of the blocks, roll the quilt and quilt the bottom half of the design in the bottom half of the blocks. The way the design placed in the quilt left several of the white crosses with no quilting. I filled those in with cusom filled circles. The border was another design that was placed with corners.

The process of figuring out how to get my customer what she wanted and complement the piecing was so much fun. I would love to collaborate with you to create your own heirloom or show piece. If you want sashing, individual pieces with their own designs (i.e., circles, triangles, hexigons, other odd shapes), hand guided, applique, etc., lets talk.

The possibilities are endless. My Gammill Statler and I are up to the task.

Quilt Backing

All backing must be at least 4" inches larger than the quilt top, on all 4 sides, as indicated on the Prepare for Quilting page. Backing should be close to square. If you send backing that is not large enough, I will not be able to load it to the long arm frame without adding additional yardage as leaders.

Trimming

We would be more than happy to trim your quilt 1/4 from the quilt edge after quilting, and serge stitch the edge.

We do not trim minky backed quilts

Binding

If you would like us to attach your binding, we will be happy to do this at the following costs. You must provide us with binding at least 15 inches longer than the diameter of the quilt.
